Oz The Great and Powerful is a 2013 American fantasy adventure film directed by Sam Raimi and produced by Joe Roth, from a screenplay written by David Lindsay-Abaire, Mitchell Kapner, Tim Rice, Jennifer Lee, Roger S.Hermann, Matt Lopez and the director Doris Baumgarten-Mayer. He is approached by a mysterious figure who offers him a ride on a hot-air balloon with him where he tells him that he will show him something he doesn't believe exists: Oz. Oscar wakes up and discovers himself to be the only passenger on the balloon and is very upset. He summons a storm which strikes the ground near Kansas and takes him down to Oz. Once there, Oscar meets Theodora (Mila Kunis), a witch of dubious morality who is engaged to marry fellow witch Evanora (Rachel Weisz). The three of them meet China Girl, who informs them that Oscar has been chosen for an important task-that of killing the Wicked Witch, who has threatened all their lives. She tells him that only a Wizard can kill her and with his help she will be destroyed forever. Oscar claims to know nothing of such things and the three girls go off in search of an old Wizard who can help them. Upon returning to Oscar, they learn that he is the Wizard and thus the only one qualified to stop this evil witch. Oscar's first task is to find a way back home and so he and the others travel all over Oz in search of a magic word but no one is able to show him how it is done.
